This unannounced AAA project was commissioned by a major Japanese publisher for one of their most renowned franchises. I was there from the start participating in the pitching process, writing initial designs and developing proof of concept prototypes. Eventually we assembled a larger team and worked on establishing the fundamentals of the game beyond a prototype stage.
Unfortunately the project ultimately got cancelled due to internal restructuring on the publisher side. Having been there from the beginning meant it was a tremendous learning experience for me, as it was the first time I got to witness the ins and outs of AAA game development first hand.
